jazzbois - Jazzbois Goes Blunt II

Budapest trio Jazzbois deliver a wonderfully laid-back blend of jazz, instrumental hip-hop, and psychedelic funk on Jazzbois Goes Blunt II. Originally released digitally in 2021, the album has become one of the group's most popular records, showcasing their knack for turning loose, improvisational jams into warm, deeply satisfying grooves. Built around Bencze Molnár's lush Fender Rhodes and synthesizers, Viktor Sági's bass and guitar, and Tamás Czirják's drums, the music sits comfortably somewhere between contemporary jazz and the dusty, jazz-infused beats of underground hip-hop.

Across eleven tracks, the trio moves effortlessly between mellow, head-nodding rhythms and more expansive psychedelic territory. “Blunted Again” sets the tone with its warm keys and relaxed groove, while “Raindance,” “Anubis,” and “Spookydope” highlight the band's adventurous side. If you're into BADBADNOTGOOD, or the jazzier side of J Dilla's production, this is well worth checking out.
