Nu Genea’s Nuova Napoli is more than an album, it’s a love letter to their hometown, fusing the golden-era sounds of Neapolitan disco, jazz-funk, and boogie with a modern sensibility. Originally released in 2018 and reissued in 2022, this LP is sun-soaked Mediterranean funk at its finest, tailor-made dancing in the humid glow of a summer evening.

Written and recorded from their Berlin studio, Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina set out to reconstruct Napoli’s rich musical history, drawing inspiration from the city’s street vendors, its alleyways strung with drying laundry, and the ever-present silhouette of Vesuvius. The result? A groove-heavy masterpiece where vintage synths, African rhythms, and deep-pocket basslines swirl around hypnotic Neapolitan vocals.

The first pressing became a cult favorite - now, this sought-after reissue gives collectors another shot at owning a modern essential. Housed in a deluxe tip-on sleeve, this 2022 pressing cements Nuova Napoli as one of the defining records of contemporary funk.
