Omasta’s debut album captures the energy of their home city of Kraków, Poland in real time. Built from thick drums, deep bass, and tightly locked grooves, Jazz Report from the Hood sits at the crossroads of live instrumental hip-hop and ’70s jazz-funk. You can hear the lineage - J Dilla, Madlib, Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd - but the voice is firmly their own, shaped by Krakow streets and years of road-tested live shows. Collectively composed and unpolished in the best way, the record plays like a snapshot of urban life. It's raw, rhythmic, and constantly in motion. A strong first statement from a band already moving with purpose.
