Amour Propre captures Stella & The Longos at a turning point, translating two years of touring and live chemistry into a richer, more expansive studio sound. Building on the foundations of Détends-Toi, the project leans further into a full-band sound, with live drums and percussion, funk-leaning guitars, warm keys, and sharp brass arrangements, while keeping Ed Longo’s crisp, hi-fi production front and center. Afro-Caribbean rhythms, vintage boogie, and late-night Parisian moods flow naturally from track to track, anchored by Stella Zekri’s magnetic, husky vocals. Her lyrics move between intimacy and release, reflection and movement, giving the album both emotional depth and dancefloor pull.
