Voice Actor’s debut Sent From My Telephone was a myth-making moment in the underground—over three hours of ambient-noir oddities and lo-fi bedroom transmissions that felt less like an album and more like a psychic leak. A cult record for those who like their music weird, whispery, and deeply warped, it positioned the duo (now just Noa Kurzweil) as one of the most intriguing voices of the musical underground.

Now teamed up with Welsh producer Squu—another lo-fi outsider with a digital trail of micro-releases and a near-zero profile—Voice Actor returns with Lust (1): a foggy, dream-state of a record that slips between ambient abstraction, lovers rock haze, and ghosted-downstep. It’s shorter than their debut but just as potent—a drifting, delirious dose of heady intimacy that lands somewhere between late-night ASMR and distant club echoes you can’t quite place.

Across its 45 minutes, Lust (1) hums. Whispered vocals brush up against dubby beats, squelched synths, and reverb-washed textures that glow and decay in slow motion. Kurzweil’s voice rarely delivers coherent meaning, but every breath and syllable is emotionally precise—like someone murmuring secrets you’ll never fully catch. Squu’s production floats between glitchy swing, ambient drift, and lo-fi pulse, always textural, always uncertain.
