Ahmed Malek was a visionary composer whose work blended hauntingly beautiful melodies with lush orchestration and deep, hypnotic grooves, earning him comparisons to fellow trailblazers like Mulatu Astatke and Hailu Mergia. As the longtime conductor of the Algerian Television Orchestra, he scored dozens of films and TV shows, shaping the sound of Algerian cinema throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Originally near-impossible to find,Malek's music has been rediscovered and remastered for a new generation–essential listening for crate diggers and soundtrack collectors, blending jazz, funk, and evocative North African atmospheres. 

This deluxe reissue includes a meticulously remastered pressing, preserving the warmth and depth of the original recordings, along with a beautiful 8-page 12" format booklet featuring rare photos, liner notes, and an interview with Malek from 1978.
