Recorded in New York in late 1959 and released on Riverside, Portrait in Jazz finds Bill Evans alongside bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian—three players communicating like one mind, with lyricism, lightness, and total freedom. There’s no grandstanding here. Just intimacy, precision, and an almost telepathic interplay that helped redefine the jazz trio format.

This 1976 Japanese reissue (SMJ-6144) offers superb audio fidelity and clean presentation. Cover is NM, with just the faintest shelf wear. Vinyl is VG+ with a few very minor hairline scratches. Includes the original Japanese insert, but no obi strip.
