After six years, Felix Manuel returns as DJRUM with Under Tangled Silence, a record born from loss, rebirth, and uncompromising musical vision. Following a catastrophic hard-drive crash during the pandemic, Manuel rebuilt the album from scratch, blending his virtuosity as a pianist, harpist, and producer with a fearless openness. The result is both intimate and expansive — a seamless fusion of jazz, classical, ambient, and dance music.

From the meditative piano opening of “A Tune for Us” to the frenetic, multi-layered finale of “Sycamore,” the album flows like a carefully plotted yet unpredictable journey. Tracks such as “L’Ancienne” and “Galaxy in Silence” balance futuristic dancefloor energy with pastoral delicacy, while “Unweaving” and “Reprise” offer quiet interludes of introspection.
