A Tiger’s Tale feels like an unearthed film score from a universe where The Jungle Book got flipped into a dusty, late-night thriller. Built on lo-fi drums, blaring horns, wah-drenched guitar, and that unmistakable Colemine grit, the album balances triumphant themes with darker, dissonant passages that nod to hip-hop sample culture at every turn. Most of these rhythm tracks were laid down eight years ago on a Tascam 388, then left to simmer while Terry Cole built Colemine Records into a powerhouse. That slow-cook patience shows. Each piece feels lived-in, heavy, and primed for future beatmakers to raid. With contributions from Kelly Finnigan, Jimmy James, and longtime drummer Rob Houk, A Tiger’s Tale plays like a family project with cinematic ambition and deep crate digger energy.
