Born from the ashes of Zev Love X’s shelved KMD album and the loss of his brother Subroc, DOOM emerged as a supervillain MC, wielding a metal mask and a razor-sharp pen. This debut is a sonic collage, stitching together cartoon samples, ‘80s soul loops, and golden-era rap nods into a surreal, lo-fi tapestry. Tracks like “Rhymes Like Dimes” dazzle with intricate wordplay and jazzy beats, while “Doomsday” pairs mournful horns with DOOM’s dense, clever rhymes, laying bare his resilience. “Gas Drawls” slinks with gritty bass and sly humor, and “Go With the Flow” flips a funky sample into a head-nodding anthem.
