Born in Maceió, in Brazil’s Northeast, Nyron Higor crafts a uniquely dreamlike vision of hope, resistance, and beauty. Drawing from the traditions of MPB and regional Northeastern rhythms like frevo and ciranda, Higor's sound is both deeply rooted and refreshingly modern. The self-titled album builds on the promise of his acclaimed instrumental debut Fio de Lâmina, with lyrical songwriting and gorgeously detailed arrangements full of acoustic elegance.
Recorded between his home and the São Paulo studios of close friends and collaborators - including Bruno Berle, Batata Boy, and Alici Sol - this album is at once a personal act of resilience and a communal sonic celebration. Tracks like “Ciranda” and “Louro Cantador” glow with warmth and sonic inventiveness, while “São Só Palavras” captures the ache of fleeting connection with unshakable intimacy.
Reflective, subtle, and revolutionary in its softness, Nyron Higor is the kind of record that reveals more with each listen. A quiet classic in the making.
