Long Island twins Nick and Mike Rufolo (aka The Brothers Nylon) have built a rare kind of musical marathon career, dropping over 30 albums and 600+ YouTube studio sessions since 2010. Their output is a wide-ranging blend of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, and occasional psych-rock and dub, all filtered through the warm, imperfect magic of their iconic Tascam 388 tape machine. Lofi Sauce is a sequel to the 2016 compilation Golden Bagels, gathering 16 vivid instrumental gems that lean into the lofi beats movement but with fully analog instrumentation and production. The record includes some of their best-loved tracks like “London Falling,” “Tea Cosy,” and “Ay Uh!” alongside unreleased treats such as “Bagel Boy,” “Wave Remote,” and “Beach Comber.” If you’ve ever wanted the laid-back, late-night vibe of a lofi playlist but with real musicianship and tape-era warmth, this is the record that delivers it.
